| I cut that silver bubble stuff for all my windows to keep out the sun so the upholstery doesn't fade when it's parked. For the screen, I just accordion pleated the polyester screening and sewed each pleat very close to the edge. It pops right back into folded position so I don't have a bunch of screen all wadded up and in the way. Bias tape around the edges first. Little plastic curtain rings on every other pleat (the ones close to the door opening) hang on a very skinny curtain rod that doesn't stick out very far (so it will keep the screen tight to the door opening). Stapled to my closet. Stapled the other side to an old bamboo fishing rod, and put a little catch on it and the door frame. I'm sure it won't keep critters in or out very well, but I was just thinking about the bugs. Next up on my list to ponder is awning pole anchors that don't have guy lines to trip over. I think I got it figured out, and will post pix if the prototype works. Diane - Reston, VA |
