| 2011 RAMP RALLY IS OVER AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME, THE PEOPLE AT THE FESTIVAL, SHOWED A LOT OF INTEREST IN OUR SCOTTYS. I TALKED TO MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE THE FIRST DAY, AND EVEN THOUGH IT RAINED SAT NIGHT, WE HAD ALOT OF FUN. WE HAVE BEEN INVITED BACK AND THEY ARE GOING TO SET UP A SPECIAL PLACE JUST FOR US. SO IT LOOKS AS LIKE THIS WILL TURN INTO A YEARLY EVEN FOR US. Every year in April we attend the Ramp Festival in Mt Morris PA ,and sell woodcrafts. I use my Scotty to stay in during the festival and to set my displays in front of it under the canopy. The last four years our Scotty's have drawn a lot of attention. People come up to me and say things like "My parents had one of those when I was growing up" or "I have not seen one of those in years". Needless to say this past year I think I had more attention paid to my Scotty than my crafts, but thats ok I enjoy people looking at the camper and talking about it. In talking with the people who put the festival together about the groups I belong to and the Scottys people have, they asked if a bunch of us would be interested in coming down during the 2007 festival and setting up our campers, for people to look at. I told them I am sure some would, Here is what is planned, arrival on Thursday, (festival is on Sat. and Sunday) anyone can bring down there camper and set up. We will be supplied electric, at the campers, and there is water , now there is no bath house, but there are porta pottys (come on we can deal with it for a couple of days, and they keep them extremely clean). For those of who need a shower there is a truck stop a couple of miles away that some of our members use, very nice showers private and clean. and if you make crafts or food items , you can set up to sell no charge,but email me you will need to get approved by connie first. now I donate to the group but it is not required, So here is what we get , a free campout, (campfire at nights included) free electric and water. free set up to sell and make a few bucks. The only requirement is you let people look at your scottys and talk about them, dont we all like to do that. please note, last year we had a issue with the electric as far as being able to run heaters at night , we are doing what we can to make sure there is enough for heaters if we need them, and thanks to Doug last year we were able to work it out , but be prepared in case we cant supply enough to everyone, if you dont need it that will be great, but some people need the electric, we could supply 15 last year and hope to supply a few more this year, not planning on an issue , just letting you know in case to be prepared, Even though its free, you can donate to the park, last year they would not take the money and we are supplying the park with a great picnic table we bought for them with the money that was donated again donations are not required, so for more information contact me at dturner26531@yahoo.com or call me at 304-685-5244 whats good about this is at night we pretty much have the place to ourselves, to do campfire, potluck There is live entertainment on all day Sat, and Sunday for more pictures of the festival we went to the last couple of years click here2007 for more information about the festival and the park click here Morgantown WV is just a few miles away for shopping and there is some sites to see around the area, Thursday and Friday , you could go site seeing or shopping the festival doesn't start till Sat.
